Wander Through Washington D.C.

Washington D.C. has hundreds of historical landmarks and museums to visit— but you probably already knew that. Did you know about the charming culture the city boasts? Or the beautiful parks? Washington D.C. is perfect for girlfriends who want a mix of the museum scene by day and the happy hour scene by night. Here are some great options if you’re planning a girls weekend at our nation’s capital.

What to Do

  • The National Mall  | The National Mall is a long, beautiful park that stretches east to west. You can see from The Lincoln Memorial, The U.S. Capitol Building,The Washington Monument and plenty of others. It is the best spot to run, walk, or jog for however long you and your gals please. The National Mall also has a few cute gift boutiques to stop by too! Most of the museums at the mall also have cafes to satisfy your appetites after a day of walking, shopping, and talking.

  • Union Station | What an iconic destination. This exquisitely restored transportation and shopping center has grandiose ceilings with gorgeous white, marble floors. What a gorgeous way for you and your girlfriends to explore its three shopping levels. If you visit during 2020, stop by The Body Shop and grab a sheet mask...or two, or four! I found out they are offering them for 2 for $10. It’d be a perfect way for your group to wind down after a full day.

Where to Stay

  • Kimpton Hotel Palomar | This hotel could not have a better location! It is in Dupont Circle and walking distance to most downtown shops and restaurants. The hotel has an adorable outdoor pool and a complimentary, daily wine hour. This year The Kimpton-Palomar was even voted Best Washington DC hotel by U.S. News & World Report. The hotel is home to the delicious Italian restaurant, Urbana too!

  • Entire Artistic Home Steps from The White House | This four bedroom, four bath Airbandb Plus townhouse is extra luxurious and comfortable! It’s conveniently located downtown and just steps from The White House. Another bonus? It has a private patio and parking!

Amidst the hustle and history being made everyday around our home and just minutes down Pennsylvania Avenue, our home at Downtown Abbey stands out with charm, artistry and convenience. This home is a jogger's and explorer's walking utopia.” – Anand and Lisa, your host
